Over the past few years, the Centre has done commendable work in the codification, documentatio of the Odissi dance form and for the development of the Odissi repertoire. Archival video recording on various aspects of the living traditions of Odissi have been recorded and preserved for posterity. The Centre has published the first detailed and systematic teaching manual in the form of an illustrated primer in the year 1988, which has been prescribed in the syllabus of Kernel University of United States of America.
    Besides, Odissi Research Centre has a very valuable archive, where one can find the Video Cassettes of the dance of ‘Maharis’ and ‘Gotipuas’ which is believed to be the origin of Odissi Dance Style. The dance of Maestros like Padmabibhushan Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra, Late Guru Deba Prasad Das, Guru Pankaj Charan Das, Late Sanjukta Panigrahi have been recorded. Dance performances of different artists in different festivals (Youth Festival, Konark Festival, and National Festival, Mukteswar Festival) have been recorded for Research purposes .
